Aficio™MP 171/MP 171F/MP 171SPF – Compact, cost-efficient multitasking 
 
Amstelveen, The Netherlands, March 2009 – Ricoh Europe (Netherlands) B. V. today launched the Aficio™MP 171/MP 171F/MP 171SPF, three compact but powerful A4 multifunctional products. The devices combine a small footprint with a range of advanced features at a low Total Cost of Ownership (TCO). The MP 171, the standard model, is a 17-cpm (copies per minute) copier with standard duplex unit. The MP 171F is equipped with an ARDF and G3 fax system. The MP 171SPF, with standard colour scanner, printer and fax, can be enhanced with connectivity, security and software options. They target small workgroups at large companies as well as small to large offices.

User authentication, encryption options and the possibility to hold or lock prints ensure the safety of data and workflows. Moreover, the MP 171SPF can be integrated seamlessly into customers’ existing network systems with the help of a Software Development Kit. This is a novelty for devices of this size.”

To deal efficiently with workflows of different kinds, the MP 171SPF offers advanced print and scan features. The devices’ Hard Disk Drives allow users to make sample prints and to repeat jobs thanks to their storage capacity. The colour scanner possesses several push scan functions for paperless document distribution to e-mail and folder. With an optional SD/USB slot, it becomes possible to scan to USB stick or SD card. The MP 171F/MP 171SPF’s G3 fax functions exemplify the combination of efficiency and environment-friendliness that characterises these devices. The fax unit transmits a message in a mere 2 seconds. Internet, IP and LAN faxing are fast and paper-saving.

The MP 171/MP 171F and MP 171SPF have a number of features and qualities that make them cost-efficient. Warm-up times of less than 10 seconds (MP 171) or 30 seconds (MP 171F/MP 171SPF) and short recovery times reduce the devices’ energy consumption. Users save paper and the accompanying costs with the standard duplex unit. The exceptional 1,350-sheet paper capacity minimises the number of refills, saving time and labour. All three devices present Ricoh’s trademark ease of use.
